The Subiekt GT system is not enough …
Last year, Mr Tomasz, the managing director of a company producing injection molds, contacted us. At the moment when he applied to us, his company employed 97 people. After just a few minutes of talking, we knew what problem Mr. Tomasz reported. For some time the company has been realizing more and more orders and knew that without support it will be more and more difficult. He wanted to use his company’s resources in 100% – a dream of almost every entrepreneur. One of the most important components of the untapped potential of the enterprise is the lack of awareness of the owner about the potential work time of effective work. This results in a waste of time in the production process and wastage of raw materials. After a detailed analysis of Mr. Tomasz’s way of functioning, we noticed that:
- -The production lacked information on the implementation of individual stages of the operation. This prevented immediate action in case of failure or error.
- – There was no cooperation between employees. Unprepared positions for the alternate caused a delay in the start of the next shift.
- -Functions and downtime were not reported on a regular basis.
- – There was a stock of raw materials in the warehouse, for which there was no order for a long time.
After presenting the results of our analysis, Mr. Tomasz decided to integrate the Subiekt GT system with the production optimization system. The main goal that he set for himself was to increase production efficiency and free up frozen financial capital in the warehouse. The client knew that the Subiekt GT system, on which he worked for years, is integral with the OptiMES system, so data migration saved time and quickly proceeded to the next steps. The shop assistant contained rudimentary accounting reports, which was not enough to regain control over production. Mr. Tomasz lacked reports on the time of settlement of employees’ work and settlement costs of the raw materials used. The deficit was also a tool that could plan deadlines for it and plan production in the event of unforeseen events, such as the absence of key employees.
Our customer, through the support of the company Optimesem, successfully managed to meet the goals set by him. More accurate work planning has translated into increased production efficiency. On the other hand, optimal planning of warehouse stocks on a regular basis enabled greater liquidity.
A nod to technology
The use of the OptiMES system by Mr. Tomasz also improved the flow of information on production. Since the report on the progress of production or execution of orders is displayed on a regular basis, it was much easier and faster to respond to the problem and to the customer’s queries, eg regarding the deadline for placing the order. Earlier, the preparation of such information was somewhat like the fortune-telling of tea leaves. Without a complete picture of productive progress, it was easy to make a mistake. Since Mr. Tomasz created an automatic system of distribution and execution of the plan (monitoring panels), the estimated response time has shortened from several hours to several minutes. This is the result of constant access to information about downtime, service problems or inactivity.
Since Mr. Tomasz used registration panels in the production hall, he has saved the entire company’s time. OptiMES removes the decision-maker from constant vigilance over employees, which allows, for example, investing time in relationships with clients. He also has more time for the family. Imagination of what is happening in the hall at the moment made it possible for Tomasz to regain his balance and peace in the company
Bravo You – Bravo OptiMES
Asked about the benefits of the introduction of the OptiMES system into the company, Mr Tomasz replies: “I can not imagine my work without Optimes anymore. The integration of the Subiekt GT system is a great time saver. Optimization of previously accepted orders has created a place for more. I appreciate the role of panels to monitor orders the most. Their main advantage is the division of production work using the Gantt Chart. It illustrates not only the division into individual stages, but also the current process of task implementation. It allows to control the work of persons responsible for particular tasks on an ongoing basis. When employees depend on each other, there is a place for cooperation that motivates them to quickly and to make the most of individual orders. An additional advantage of the Gantt Chart is the simplicity of use. By applying the right colors. In a very quick and easy way allows you to find yourself in the thicket of individual stages of work. “
